I read the thread's that I could find on .plt files, but I can't seem to
find my problem. I am running LandDesktop 2004 with Windows Xp SP2 and plot
with DesignJet 500. I recently received a .plt file and downloaded the
"Printfile" software. The software loaded fine, but when I try to send the
..plt file, it makes it to the plotter and then the plotter "flushes" it out.
I really don't know what to do from here. It should be a simple process,
but no way!

Any help here?

Was the plot file set up for you particular printer? If I remember
correctly, the 500 doesn't do HP/GL2 unless it has an add-on in firmware, I
think.
You need to check this out.

If you did a search, you did not read the standard reply we all add to posts
like yours:

PLT is not a file format like JPG or GIF, it is just a naming convention
used by AutoCAD to label anything plotted to file.
That means, unless the sender create the PLT file with your plotter driver,
your plotter will not read it.

Ask the file creator what they used, compare to the abilities of the plotter
you have by exploring your user guide of HP's website.

As one of the previous posters said, the DesignJet 500 does not support
native the HPGL/2 format (which is what most .plt files are). However, we
have a product that does not care if your printer or plotter supports native
HPGL/2 as long as it's it has a Windows print driver. It is called RePlot
and can be found here:

http://cadfx.com/replot

In addition to HPGL/2, it supports viewing and printing PDF, TIFF, and DWF
files singly or in a batch.
