All,

I am trying to create a ACAD 2004 NIW package that connects to a license
server. I am following essentially the same steps I used when I built
my 2002 packages.

I have a standalone niw package that works fine. When I create a second
deployment (.mst) for networked settings, everything looks fine. In run
deploy via the shortcut and acad installs fine. I reboot and then try
to open acad - this is where my issue comes in - acad never loads! No
error messages, nothing. The spash screen never even comes up. The
mouse pointer goes to an hourglass and then back to normal. If I watch
in taskmanager, I can see acad.exe starting and then it goes away. I
have searched via the website this discussion group and also
autodesk.autocad.2004 for help with no luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks
James

In the mean-time, check your event logs in your event viewer to see if any error message is listed when acad.exe quits.

Yea, did that. Nothing, Nada, Zilch. That is what makes this whole
thing so confusing.

Yeah, that is too bad. I suppose your network image could be corrupted when it was being built. I suppose you could just make another Network Install and try again.

I did just help a user who made a network install and accidentally put in the wrong serial number because he didn't doublt-check it when creating the network deploy. Perhaps your serial number was also incorrect.

When you do your install, uncheck the silent-mode so you can be sure that all of the settings are correct for that install.

I wish you the best of luck.
