I had some staff draw a sign for Laser cutting as a CAD file and sent it off
for CAD/CAM

Unfortunately they want it as a vector not font file - how do I convert it
to a format suitable for CAD/CAM

Do you have CorelDraw? Export the drawing as a plot file using the old HP
7585 driver. Then import the plot file into CorelDraw. Then export the
CorelDraw file as a DXF and import it into AutoCAD. Voila! All fonts turned
to outlines.
