I am working on an Architectural Site Plan, in which we xref a Civil Site Plan. When laying out a new parking curb, I had used "Near" and selected an existing Civil Curb. Opps, I find the line is at a -677' in the z-coordinate, so it won't fillet with another curb I drew at 0-coordinate. No problem I thought. I just used a "flatten" lisp to flatten it. Opps. No, I get an AutoCAD Message, "LIne entity encountered and not flattened!" Am I using some cheap flatten commmand that can't flatten a line? I wasn't trying to flatten any of the xrefed file, just the new line I had created. Any ideas out there? Read Ya Later -KLYPH

Instead of using the flatten command for one line, you should of just changed the z coordinate to zero.

Of course you're right, but it is worse than I had let on. I had alread drawn many curbs and dividing lines all at numerous wrong z-coordinates, depending on the z-coordinate of the Civil curb I had chosen at any particular time. So, when I select the many lines I've drawn, the Properties does not display the z-coordinate line since there are so many different ones. Again, I wonder if anyone has a better flatten command? Couldn't you sort (in the properties box) to just select the lines? It
should show the z-coords box, it should show *varies*......

if properties box shows "z" elev.. as varies then replace it with "0" and
all points should then be return to "0" elev.

Matt, our office may have some setting that is set differerntly than yours. If we choose multiple objects with different z-coordinates, the "z" box is no longer displayed. I wish the "z" box was shown empty for me to insert "0" but not on my computer. So, I have been selecting the objects one at a time and inserting "0" into both the beginning "z" box and the ending one. I have searched the Express Tools Help and there is no "flatten" and the same with the standard Help. Any help out there? Thanks, Read Ya Later -KLYPH
