co ordinat readout |
|
|
If your working units within a design file are set so that, when you place
dimensions they read in millimeters, ie 2 meters reads 2000, and 2 meters
and 400mm reads 2400. I know it's possible to 'adjust' the display to read
meters by setting the scale factor in the dimensions setting dialogue. I've
can't see a reason for doing so, and I've never done it, but I know it can
be done.
Bearing this in mind, I'm placing co ordinates over a site layout using the
automatic settings available. My problem is that the displayed values are in
mm. The numbers are a little difficult to read and 'the man on site' he say
'can't you display it im m. say 103.550 rather than 103550.
Is this possible? if so, how?
Tar oodles for your help..

Barrie, if you are working with Microstation V8, in dimension settings you
can choose working units or any other unit for dimensioning.
However in pre-V8 there is only the option to scale the dimensions.

Our CAD standard working units is:
Civil = master unit 1000 (M), sub-unit 100 (mm)
Mechanical and Archectural = master unit 1 (mm), sub-unit 100 (th)
So it's just 3 zeros more, your unit is in meter &
3 zeros less, your unit is mm.
When you want to put coordinate use civil working unit
and when dimensioning use mechanical working unit.
Good Luck
