Help! AutoCAD problem when Reusing a Server Name |
|
|
Is anyone aware of problems when a server name is reused? This may be
complicating the problem we are having. See original post link below.
It's not the license server. It's the server where the data is
located.
Basically, AutoCAD hangs for a minute or two when trying to access a
particular share drive on a server. This server is called SERVER3,
replacing an old server with the same name. The new server has Windows
2003. The old one had 2000 server. If we access the share drive from
Windows Explorer or other applications, it's fine. AutoCAD apps are
the only ones having the problem. AutoCAD can open other shares on
other servers okay.
In my previous post, I thought it might have been a registry problem or
some autoCAD settings but we tried it on a computer from a different
office with all different settings than ours and it hung up too.
Thanks,
Greg
