I need to find a good 3D cell library for MicroStation containing bolts
,nuts, washers etc. Earlier this was in MicroStation Modeller - but it is
not possible to get it in MS 2004 ed feature modelling.

If anyone have a tip about where to find such items to buy or for free - or
even feature cell libraries - I would be very happy.

best regards

There is a limited cell library here:
Bentley\Workspace\Projects\Examples\General3d\cell\HardwareParts.cel

Someone, also from Norway, posted on the Microstation Discussion
Groups, that he had tried to create a metric library from this, but had
problems. It is hard to follow what is happening with the DDDesign side
of these feature cells. Also, I would have liked to have the chamfer on
the top surface of the bolt only.

Then, looking for dimensions in the Machinery's Handbook, reminded me
of all the other forms of fixings, and standard parts. Made me think
that something like Corus Construction Parts, for structural steel
profiles would be good. It works, (or worked?) well with Bentley
Structural.

Found a free parts library on this website:
www.ohyeahcad.com/

It's a lot like I hoped for, but cumbersome. The parts are available in
DWG (2D & Solid), SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Inventor, Turbocad, SAT, IGES,
but of course not DGN, (think AEC...).

When I tried using these, (DWG), in MS 2004, I found that they wouldn't
render, but that they would in V7. They also render OK in MS 2004 if
you upgarde the V7 DGN.

There are plenty of free parts cell if you search for autocad blocks with google then copy them into ustn.
