same layer with a differenrt color in layouts? |
|
|
Is there one way to see the same layer with a differenrt color in different
layout tabs ? (so I can print w/diff. Line width using the same .ctb)
I could use layermanager, but then I need to manually change the
configuration each time, and what I would like is to have it done
automatically when i print together the differnt layout tabs.
I could also make a different plotter configs for each layout, but I'd like
to avoid that hassle and use the same ctb each time.
thanks

Isn't that exactly what STBs are for?

maybe...I am not so used to stbs
how would you with .a .stb do so that all the yellow objects of my
furniture layer print in light grey on the demolition plan, medium black on
the base plan and thick black on the furniture plan? seems to me I would
need a lot of styles for every layer of every layout...
what I was wondering was a way to define that all yellow objects in the
model become grey in the demolition layout, black in the furniture layout
etc.

You can't assign different plot styles or colors to the same layer in
different layouts or otherwise. One way you can achieve what you want to do
is to change the plot style of the layer (if using STB) or it's color (CTB)
each time you plot a layout. The only other way I can think of is to copy
the yellow objects on the furniture layer to other layers with different
colors or styles. So you would have a bunch of duplicate objects on
different layers. Then freeze them all except for one in each of the layout
view.

That's a big question with a long answer. Look it up in the help and see if
it makes sense to you.
I have little personal experience with them myself, but know that color and
linetype
can be made to appear differently in different floating ports.

yes I can change the color of objects with named views in the layermanager,
but then it needs to be changed manually for each type of printing.
Can I link a view from layermanager to a specific layout, so that when I
print all of them together they automatically revert to the correct view?
your idea of copying objects on a different layer would be fine if the
'children layers' could be automatically updated from a 'parent layer' (like
instances in 3dviz). can I do that?

I fooled around with this years ago when A2K came out.
F1 is your best bet. You have to be using named plot styles,
and assign the property as you draw. Then you manage the plot styles
through a "manager".
There were so many problems with A2K, it didn't seem worth it for me to
pursue...
