Error 1.5-5 |
|
|
I have installed the license manager for AutoCAD 2005, and deployed to one workstation. The license manager indicates that 15 licenses are available (0 in use), however after I launch AutoCAD from the workstation, it give me error message [1.5-5] indicating that a valid license could not be obtained from the network license manager.
We are currently running AutoCAD 2000i. The server with the license manager for 2005 is separate from the server with the license manager for 2000i.
I have followed the instruction on the AutoCAD CD and can not figure out why the workstation is not finding one of the 15 available licenses. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the Licpath.lic file at the root program level contain the correct server name?

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, the Licpath.lic file states:
SERVER tower10 000e0c5ea309
USE_SERVER
which matches the first two lines of our license file.

Each seat of the network license may also be installed and activated on one additional workstation for each user, such as a home or remote workstation, provided that the user’s two workstations are not used concurrently, are used exclusively by the same person, and are owned or under the control of the license holder."
Think about this for a minute.
It seems to me the only way to insure compliance is to check out a license from the license server.
And by the way pay attention to the language about being
owned or under control; of the license holder. |

I apologize for my incorrect posting.
Is the license manager service running on your server. Also sometimes if you have DNS problems you can substitute the ip address for the server name in the nlicpath.lic file and it will work.

Open a command prompt on the workstation and type "set".
You should see a line that says something like:
ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE=@SERVER1;@SERVER2
Make sure sure one and server two are the names of the two license serves
you're using. If you need to make a change on the workstation use the
system in the control panel to set the environment variables. List the
servers in the order you want the client to search with an ; between them.
Not sure if this helps, but what the heck. I like typing.
