I did read the rest of the thread. It seems to be similar to a problem I
had with a routine from R14. Our menu has pull downs that filled in a block
with information on purchased parts and raw material. Here is a sample line

^C^CINSERT;BOM_LINE;ENDPOINT;\(GETVAR "USERR2");;;;907257.010;PIPE CS .125"
SCH 40 X NT;CS PIPE;;DDATTE;L;

Until I set the ATTDIA variable to 0 the line would insert the block and
pull up the dialog and ignored the rest of the line. It appeared that the
rountine Disco Dave is trying to use acts in a manner similar to the sample
above. Am I misinterpreting the problem?

Then you should have noticed that the problem had to do with the change in
the function of the INSERT command (vs. the -INSERT form), not with the
setting of ATTDIA.

Yes.
