After inserting image files in ACAD 2005 drawing, is there a way to bind the
images to the drawing file so that my client can open the drawing with out
having to keep the image files with the drawing file?

There is no way to do it with the image command, but you can insert it as an
OLE object and keep it with the drawings [INSERTOBJ].
