AutoCAD message: INVALID FILE NAME |
|
|
hello all:
A question from a r2000 user.
Recently when I try to open files from our projects folders I am getting a message stating 'invalid file name' when I try to open it. I still see the preview in the preview box when opening through ACAD but it will not let me open the file. If I copy the drawing to another folder outside of my projects folder, I can open the drawings.
Also, I have recently found that the font types tend to change on their own when opening a drawing. At first I thought that the font style had been erased from my drawing/computer, but I was able to change the font back to the original style without making any other changes.
I hope that someone may have some answers for me as our business production is slowing because of this problem that is probably just a trivial issue.
Thanks,
Ian

Sounds like you have no WRITE access to the folder: a network server
setting.

We are running Win98 which has no folder protection unlike 2000 or newer. I do not think that this could be the issue. Also, the files are not even accessible from the computer that they are stored on let alone through the peer to peer sharing network.

Also Dean, it seems as though, from your previous posts to others that you will promote the use of a newer windows os. I do understand that this would be beneficial, but our files did work up to this week with the 98 os. I can't see this being the issue.
Thanks,
Ian |
