Extract Edges from 3D Faces? |
|
|
Have a large amount of 3D Faces (actual ground terrain) from a source archive and would like to extract out (explode) the vertices that comprise the 3D Face, into either just the 3D line segments, or the 3D polyline itself.
Thought (recall ?) easily possible, yet to many CAD/Design packages, and my head's starting to hurt.
Would greatly appreciate!!

| Use the region command to turn them into regions then explode them. |

You bet, works like it should !! (hit me like a 2 ton heavy thing)
Had no idea you could create a Region from a 3D Face!
Always used just closed your standard combinations of lines, polylines, circles, arcs, ellipses, elliptical arcs, and splines.
I'll have to look again at other means of creating regions from objects, and thus assume a 3D surface can become regions based on the grid settings?? Yet, just not a solid ?,
but then, if a 3D Face is extruded, you can still create a Region I would suppose. Time to look at my R12 basics, Hu?
Really appreciate the rapid replies!!
Back to shading and display time!!!
