Object snap and hatches |
|
|
Is there any way to exclude Hatches from object snap? Since hatches have
rarely geometric value in drawings it would be really useful to optionally
eclude them from osnap.
Any news is welcome.
Thanks
Fabrizio

Yes, upgrade to R2005 and turn it off.

I thank you Dean, but from my point of view it is as if I asked if there
was a system to automatically clean my car's front window without stopping
and cleaning it by hand and you answered me "buy another car" instead of
telling me "push that button to activate windscreen wiper".
Personally I prefer to use first my brain than my wallet.
Please is there any other way of disabling hatches from object snap in
addition to buying R2005?
Thanks again
Fabrizio

Fabrizio,
A solution to your question is now a core feature within AutoCAD 2005. which
is set on the Drafting Tab of the Options Dialog: Ignore Hatch Objects can
be turned on/off.
There is/was a 3rd Party Utility called Flatland:

Which may or may not still be available for AutoCAD 2000, 2000i & 2002 at:

You ask for a feature not found in your version of AutoCAD.
Windshield wipers and sprayers were never an option in older cars, so there
was no button to push: perfect example, thanks for bringing it up.

Re: Object snap and hatches |

I just installed Flatland for AutoCAD2000: it is exactly was I was looking
for.
If you spend 8 to 10 hours a day drawing with AutoCAD (since R12 to 2000)
you'll find this utility really useful.
Thanks again to Tracy for telling me about it and to Tony Tanzillo for
writing it and making it downloadable as a freeware for AutoCAD 2000.
