How to place a point above a certain point |
|
|
Hello,
I am currently using Microstation J and have lots of points to create that
is .505 m above a certain point where I snap to. What is the fastest way to
accomplish this?
thanks

Hi mike..
If you want to move or copy all the points together, just select them
by element selector or fence, select the command, then snap to the
point which you like to be the base, press O (after activating
accudraw) then within accudraw type the distance you want. Or after
snapping to the base point you can keyin: dx=0,0,0 where 0 is the
distance you like to move or copy to.
Hope this helps. |

Thanks that might work for move and copy but I am not moving and copying I |
am creating a new point from various points from where I snap from.

Mike,
If you are drawing elements, i.e. linestrings, you can adjust each point
with Accudraw as you snap to each location. You can use Page-up and
Page-down to recall previous Accudraw keyins so you don't have to keep
entering the offset over and over. This will still be slow and you may
be better off to draw the element and then move it.
If you are placing active points you can place one and then select it.
Then snap to it and offset the cursor position with accudraw. Now you
can place as many points as you want with the correct offset.

There is a MicroStation keyin command that you can use to move the cursor an
offset distance.
Once you snap to the existing element, you can key in:
dx=0,0.505
where 0 is the X offset in master units and 0.505 is the Y offset in master
units.
If you need a second point at the same position as the last point you can
key in:
dx=0,0 |

2d or 3d?
or
dx=0,0,0.505 in keyin window and use uparrow for repetion
