License Release and VPN |
|
|
We have a problem with remote users connected via Cisco Pix VPN releasing
licenses. Whenever they get a license they don't release it even if the
computer is turned off. They are not borrowing the licenses.
I have to restart the license server about once a day to clear the licenses.
I tried adding a timeout to my license file but then FlexLm hung, and I am
also not sure if this was the right approach to begin with.
Thanks,

TIMEOUT should be set in the options file, not the license file. Proper
syntax is documented in the documents installed under your license manager
folder on your server.

I use the "timeoutall" variable in our options file and we don't have any
problem with in network or VPN users licenses getting hung up. It sounds
like you are putting what belongs in your Options file in your license file,
which will never work. Look in the "Docs" subdirectory of the directory
where you FlexLM is installed for information on the Timeout variable as
well as setting up an options file.
