Can't open file: A2ki freeze... |
|
|
Autocad2000i freeze while trying to open dwg file I saved.
File is quite big (3,8MB) but nothing special.
I tried restarting OS (win2k pro) but nothing changed.
My PC is a PentiumIV, 512MB RAM, i don't think that is the problem.
Could please someone help me?!
Thanks.

I tried also RECOVER command but nothing changed.
The strange is that I made the file and I've worked on the drawing always with the same PC. Since I had some problems with another workstation of my LAN with other dwg files and the only common thing is the use of HATCH in the drawing, I ask if the problem can be correlated. If it is correlated how can I use HATCH in the drawing without having problem?
Thanks for helping me

Is the hatch associative, and are there x-refs involved?
I guess the hatch question is silly since all new instances of hatching are
automatically associative - whether you want it or not unless you manually
turn it off during each hatching operation. Even though you can turn it off
in options - it doesn't stick. That's a bug they finally fixed with 2004.
It's also caused a whole slew of problems for us when hatching over an
x-ref'ed plan including crashes or the inability to open after saving and
closing. Running recover in 2004 was the only fix that's worked on a bad
2000 dwgs with hatch. Then I could dis-associate all hatching using the
properties dialog. But as soon as someone went back on 2000 to hatch - all
new hatches were associative again, and eventually another crash or
corrupted file would happen. I would try to teach them how to turn off
associativity, but it's yet another step that you have go out of your way to
do for every new hatch you create and they would very quickly skip that
step. |
