Acad2005 - HP 1050c file name display |
|
|
This is a new post based on an old post (28/12/2004 - Jeremy Borgman)
Why does Acad 2005 include DWGPREFIX in the PJL Job Name? Acad 2002 used
DWGNAME only. I assume Acad 2005 uses DWGNAME as well but you will never
see it in the plotter window.
Can we have a variable to put this back in control of the user? The name is
far more important than the path (IMHO of course).
Where is and how do I add to the Autodesk *wish list*?

Hello,
Actually HP is working on fixing this in there driver. I'll forward this on

Hope this helps and Happy Holidays.

Bud - could you clarify this a little? Why is it that R2004 shows only the
filename but R2005 includes the path when using the *exact same* HP driver?
This tells me that *something* changed between R2004 to R2005, and that it's
not totally an HP issue.

There is something wrong here. I just checked my plotter and it was
plotting
G:\CURRENT something something
G: is a network drive, and there is no current directory on it.
It appears that there are 3 separate things here; DRIVE, PATH, and FILENAME.
To restate my opinion, I only want filename.

I second that, and I think Autodesk is at fault. Not HP. It was working
"correctly" in 2004 and Autodesk "broke" it.

Sorry. My mistake. Someone had created a \current directory on the
network.

Hi John,
If you read all the posts I have put up about this thread over time you will
see that I say we put it back the way it used to be because we had a lot of
people asking why we changed it back in AutoCAD 2000. The problem is that
HP did not realize the change until to late to fix it on the driver side.
They are working on fixing this in a newer version of there driver. We work
very close with HP but this one just slipped through the cracks for them.
Take care.
