Being able to select insertion point of block |
|
|
I was wondering if it was possible to be able to select the base point of a block during insertion? I have a palette of blocks and currently they ask for scale and rotation, but I would really like to select a new base point on the block, then place in drawing, then scale and rotate. Is this possible?

That could really be a nightmare.
Now you would have an identical block in a drawng that has various insertion points?
What wkould happen if you redefined the block in the drawing? They would all go back to the one insertion point.
Think about it.

Hmm,
How you going to 'pick' that point (on the block), unless you
already have inserted it (so you can see what to pick) ?
Better to just insert the block, and 'move' 'last' @, pick new
point.

| I was thinking more along the lines of mult-view blocks - where you can use the ctrl key to cycle through different insertion points while inserting. I thought by adding points on the block on the defpoints layer would allow me to cycle through insertion points. |

You cannot do that with normal blocks in vanilla AutoCAD.
