My snaps are setting themselves. I "clear all" in the object snap dialog box. As I move the crosshairs over my drawing the snap marker box appears as if my snaps were all set. Going back to the snap dialog box I see that any snaps that I encountered are now set. Any idea how to stop this craziness ?

Running OSnaps don't "set themselves." More than likely you have some
third-party addon (LISP, VBA or ???) that's setting them. For starters,
check what's being run by your startup suite.
