AutoCAD menus -commands Microstation? |
|
|
I own both AutoCAD and microstation . We use AutoCAD for about 90% of our
business and Microstation for about 10%. What we have been doing is doing
all the work in AutoCAD and then importing into Microstation, most of the
time it goes, sometimes easier than others.
The biggest stumbling block to using Microstation more is the huge
investment in time it takes to train and learn the platform. If you are an
AutoCAD user, going to Microstation feels very counterintuitive to what you
are used to, although I respect microstation users that find Microstation
more straightforward to deal with.
Thus, I was wonderiing, if anyone has come up with a microstation add on so
that you can work in Microstation with the same commands and menus that you
are used to in AutoCAD. I know the lisp routines won't go, but just the
basics of copying, moving around, edting text, etc, it would eliminate alot
of frustration in tryint to go from one to the other.
I heard MS V8 has some ability like this, but, I really don't what it does.
Thanks for all responses.

In addition to what Inga mentions, the MicroStation V8 documentation is quite helpful in this area. See
http://docs.bentley.com/en/MicroStation/ustnhelp1006.html for an online version. There are also some helpful tips and technotes (for
MicroStation V8) at http://selectservices.bentley.com/technotes/product53.htm.
If all else fails, check out the Bentley discussion groups... see http://selectservices.bentley.com/discussion/index.htm for
information on how to connect, etc.
