I run into this problem quite often. I open a design file to plot it.
When I see the plot the line weights are not visible (everything is
really light). I go back to the drawing and open the view attributes,
line weight is toggled off. Is they a way via the pentable or plot
driver to make sure the line weights are plotted the way they should
be; without checking every design file to make sure the line weight
toggle is on?

V8:
File > Print
Settings > Print Attributes

V7:
In the modify pentable dialog take a look at the Output actions tab.
In there you've got a fill on/off switch that can be applied to a section.

Hello redbyrd,

In the plot dlog there's a Configuration menubar item where the plot
configuration (incl. print attributes) can be saved / loaded (which they
become an .ini file in the <projectname>/data/ dir or another dir defined by
MS_PLOTINI) but I don't know of a keyin or config var that will force a
particular .ini file.

There's a keyin "print attributes lineweights on" that works when the print
dlog is open, you could customiz your menubar item File > Print keyin to
read "dialog plot<semicolon>print attributes lineweights on".

Another option is to use Batch Printing & set the Display specification to
Line Weights On.
