Our ex-partner in the corporation brought over several engineers and
designers from their India office and oh boy did we get an eyeful. They
found a way around the office firewall and scoped out a slew of porn sites
during the workday. We watched them watch the videos and had quite a laugh.
They were like kids in a candy store.
After returning to their native country our partner company sent them an
entire section of the facility to do the structural design. Our engineer
reviewed their calcs, drawings for a couple of days and then trashed the
entire package and instructed our lead designer to get ready for a crash
schedule in work turnaround. The outsourced work was trash and that is
where it now resides. In two weeks, 1 engineer and 1 designer (u.s.a.)
cranked it out and issued the re-work to construction. So much for cost
efficiency!

This may be a rare case but not true for all Indian companies.

Hy Folks,
working for a big automotive tier 1 supplier we had a similair issue her
in Europe. After some cost investigations from our management we were
forced to give it a try.
We created a package and sent the stuff to the indian company. Price was
cheep and the work was done very fast.
After checking what we received we decieded to delete everything because
it was not created according to aur wishes. We recreate the files under
time pressure and convinced our upper management not to try this again ;-)
