Text lines in command line window |

How do I retain the settings so every time I open AutoCAD there will be three lines in the command line window? I have created a profile but that does not solve it.

That setting should stick. Investigate why it is not.
Either something is setting it upon startup or it is not being written to the registry during shutdown of AutoCAD.
In the meantime, you can "force" it by adding this to one of your startup files.
(setenv "CmdVisLines" "3")

That setting should stick..
Try this (repost from a message by Chip Harper aka: The ChipFix <g>):
This problem usually occurs after running batch plot but not always.
There are two fixes.
One is to reinstall AutoCAD, here is the second way ...
Open AutoCAD and minimize it (center button on the title bar) make sure it
is still large enough to see the command line. Drag the command line to
three lines or use Tools>Preferences to change it. Maximize AutoCAD (same
center button). Close AutoCAD. Reopen and AutoCAD will remember three lines.

The second way is usually the best fix. However, you're not "minimizing"
it, you're "windowing" it down. Somewhere along the line, Acad got windowed
down and was re-sized to be too small for three lines in the command line
area - then Acad was maximized without being re-stretched to a bigger window
first.
For some reason, the registry only remembers the last windowed size of Acad,
and not whether it's been maximized since. Thus, leaving only one line in
the command line until you re-size the windowed area bigger.
