Whats the difference in these two files!! |
|
|
Can anyone help me!!!
I am very very new to microstation and am having a fairly major
problem already!
An Architect has supplied a drawing (dxf) to my company which can be
imported direct to the companies own program which controls a light
weight steel roll forming machine.
the problem is when i alter the drawing and then save it, I cannot
import it into the program!
I have even tried just renaming it but it still doesnt work!
can anyone help me! I can send the files over to look at if any one is
willing to help out
as i said i know nothing about microstation!
thanks in advance
Neil

Hi Neil,
What is the specific 8 digit version of MicroStation you are using? See
Help > About MicroStation.
Also, you may find Bentley's discussion groups of assistance. Over there you
can meet other users of Bentley products, exchange ideas, and discuss a wide
range of technical subjects. These groups are an excellent technical
resource for all users of Bentley products and services. Hope to see you
there!

Look up the documentation on your machine's program and find out what
version of AutoCad the DXF has to be exported to..
Also what version of microstation are you using?
when you impost in preV8 you are converting the DXF as an import so the file
your altering is Dgn ustn, so in your export settings you must define what
version you have to export it back to.
In V8 you can just open in as dxf and edit away and then save it as it is in
the vesrion it came from but you can also change it too from options in the
Save as.
If your having real problems and can't meet your deadline up load the
finished dgn here and the original dxf here too and we (one of us here on
the NG) will work it out for you and repost the finished dgn as the right
DXF ..

Sad isn't it?

Hi Inga
the version I am using is 8.00.3.16
unfortunately I have no idea what version the architect uses!
I have asked them for help but obviously if I can produce these files myself
my company wont have to pay the architect to produce them, so they aren't
being very helpful!
It's getting to the point where my employer is thinking of firing me so I
really need to sort it ASAP!
I was hired to do the AutoCAD work but this has been dumped on me!
thank you so much for replying ! hopefully you can help me sort this out
before I have no job!!!!
let me know if you need to see the files!!
Neil
