composite datum curves |

I have several datum curves and would to connect all of them into one curve. I am using Wildfire 2.0. this process
used to be done using Wildfire 1.0 ( Edit/Copy/Paste ) but seems to be missing in Wildfire 2.0. Anybody know how
to make several datum curves into one? Thanks

It's still there, but the form has changed a little; select one of the
curve segments to be copied, then Edit / Copy (ctrl+C), Edit / Paste
(ctrl+V) (Paste Special for transforms). Pastiing launches the dialog
panel. You might find it handy to change the selection filter from Smart
to Geometry prior to starting the process so you don't have a feature
selected. |

I think I get it: you copy and paste the same curve segment, then add to it to
make the composite?
Add with Ctrl? Shift?

Select the first segment of the curve 2 times until it turns bold red.,.
Then do a 'edit' 'copy' and 'paste'. You will get the dashboard to come up
and
now using the shift key you can select all of your curves. But
select the original curve first.

Yes, at least that seems, to me, to be the easiest way to go about it; use
a single curve segment, copy, paste to get a dialog panel to come up and
then add using Shift+RMB and Shift+Pick combinations as in WF. There's
also a "Details" button on the Reference tab that exposes a dialog version
of the additional controls; Flip direction, Trim, Extend, Partial Loop,
Complete Loop, etc.
You can also pre-select entities, as before. In fact, I think that it's
all about the same in WF2 (vs. WF) with the exception of the Copy tool
button being gone. There are some subtle differences that threw me for a
loop when I first installed 2 (my grasp on WF's concepts wasn't really all
that firm) that I couldn't put my finger on and I settled into the "single
entity, get the dialog open" routine. |
