Anne,
Sorry to hear of your CTS. Hope the brace helps. Have you tried
any voice activated software?

Regards,
Doug

As one who has "carpal tunnel" surgery in my future,
.....
me huge wrist pain. I now use the hand brace and an external
mouse as it is easier to keep my wrist straight.

OT -

Voice activated software? As much as I yell at my screen? <G>

Haven't really tried any but most of my work on the groups is
reading. OT again - the knitting and quilting are by the wayside
for now until the wrist gets fixed. Wearing the wrist brace truly
does help.

Seems to me that most people who answered this thread has or had somekind of
RSI related problem, including myself.
I still stand to my point, STRESS.

No matter what kind of furniture you use or what kind of input devices it
all comes together at one point. YOU.

Just reconsider how your day of work goes by, check out all and even the
most minor things that happen on/in your office.
Everything, and i mean really everything can tribute to build-up of stress.
The draft of the airco, some noisy coffeemachine, the 'idiotic' laugh of a
collegue and ofcourse the work. Just name it.

Talk about it with you superiour and have things corrected.
Try to exclude all external factors until you and your work are left.
Concentrate on the work and try to relax while doing it.

Check yourself regulary during the day,
- are you building up muscle strain
- how is your position behind the screen
- think positive
- relax, try to avoid stressbuilding agony

Don't get me wrong, working hard is not stress, worrying about things that
are out of your control combined with the workload build up stress.

Some hints and ideas.
