Byron - ok, you ARE talking about object snap (not SNAP).
Have you modified your menu files? What's changed from when you used to get
a snap menu? What does your middle mouse button do now?

Re: Help - Snap |

Christian,
Sounds like you managed to get AutoCAD to hose your POP0 snapcursor
settings...
Happened to me all the time in R13, and worse... :-/
But I digress.
If you don't use a partial menu (or know what one is), now's a good time to
start.
AutoCAD ships with a standard ACAD.mnu.
A lot of folks customize it to death, then are rudely awakened when a new
version of AutoCAD trashes it before they realized it was going to be
trashed, a la R13...
One way to avoid this is to make a copy of it (in some customization folder
of your own design), rename it, along with the ***MENUGROUP= specifier line
near the beginning of the file, and then customize THAT file out the wazoo.
Then use the MENULOAD and TOOLBAR commands to load it up, as well as
enable/disable the various menu items and toolbars.
Make sure the folder you have selected for your customization is listed
first on the Support file Search path in the profiles directory. That way,
it will get top billing. Also, it would be good to back up your Profile
once in awhile, as all such search paths get saved therein. Export it out
with some safe name that you will know what it means, like
ChristianProfile2004-11-01, or something.
While you are not protected from faulty menu customization doing this, you
HAVE taken a major step in protecting your menu settings from being
disrupted.
I have listed below part of my custom partial menu, that contains my POP0
snapcursor settings.
Edit it to suit if you want, and save it as an .mns file, perhaps changing
the menugroup name to something you prefer (but if you do, change all those
"DJK" string bits within the code to the menugroup name you specify.)
[code]

Now, one last thing.
You have to get AutoCAD's attention with respects to the button settings you
want.
This can be done via an .mnl AutoLISP file that is associated with your menu
..mns file, as shown below...
(Keep the two files together in that same customization folder.)
Whatever name you give the .mns file, give the .mnl file the same name.
(IOW, if you name your .mns file, Christian2004.mns, the .mnl file should be
named Christian2004.mnl)

Clear ACAD Buttons and Aux Settings, then swap them with partial
settings:

(mapcar
'menucmd
'("ACAD.B1=~" "ACAD.B2=~"
"ACAD.A1=~" "ACAD.A2=~" "ACAD.A3=~" "ACAD.A4=~"
"B1=DJK.BUTTONS1" "B2=DJK.BUTTONS2" "B3=DJK.BUTTONS3"
"B4=DJK.BUTTONS4"
"A1=DJK.AUX1" "A2=DJK.AUX2" "A3=DJK.AUX3" "A4=DJK.AUX4"
)
)
[\code]
(Again, remember to edit those "DJK" string bits listed above to the
menugroup name you specified.)
BTW, if you use ADT rather than AutoCAD, change the "ACAD" string prefixes
above to "ADT". (And perhaps something else if you use another vertical.)
Now load up the partial menu via the MENULOAD command, and finally, set
the
MBUTTONPAN system variable to 0.
Hopefully AutoCAD will now play nice with your own menu customization
efforts.
