Does anyone know of a resource where I can find aircraft blocks? I am looking for a fairly extensive database with all kinds of commercial and business jets.

I'd suggest doing a google search on 3D aircraft mesh model file or
something similar - there's tons of stuff out there, especially if you're
willing to pay. Here's an example:

Also 3dcafe has drawings and 3ds files.
