Best CAD program for Fence Contractor? |
|
|
Hello everyone, I searched the forums for fence related items and came up empty. I'm not even sure I should ask this here but I am desperate.
I am the Chief Estimator for a commerical fence company in Florida and I am in charge of generating shop drawings/submittals when we land a contract. I SUCK at drawing and I am in desperate need of a simple program to generate the shop drawings I so despise creating.
Any suggestions as to the best program for my needs?
Thanks,
Palindrake
EDIT: And just to clarify, I'm looking for simple interface type stuff. I will not be doing advanced modeling or building skyscrapers. I will need solid 2D type manipulation of lines and stuff to make fence and post footers work for me and the occasional 3D type stuff when I need to design a bracket which needs to get signed off on by an engineer.
Hope that makes me make more sense... TIME FOR COFFEE.
Thanks again in advance to any suggestions

Hey mate, try Google Sketchup Which is free to download and really easy to learn.
Even though it is 3d you can dimension and it has the most user friendly user interface. Download it and use it for free, but dont forget that you can dimension and use text. If you cannot get your head around that program then give up and stick with pencil and paper |
