I'm thinking of starting a CAD drafting/design business on the side to supplement my income. I need to find an inexpensive (or cheap) program for this purpose that is similar to AutoCAD, since I've been working with that for the last 20 years. It needs to work on a Windows Vista machine since that is what I currently have at home.

Any suggestions?

-AutoCAD LT
-TurboCAD
-Intellicad-based, such as Bricscad, ProGE cad, etc..
-DoubleCAD
-smartdraw (free download)

A websearch will lead you to many more.

Download Briscad for a 30 day trial It is better than autocad at 1 tenth the cost and does the same. I have used Autocad professionally for 7 years and have switched to Bcad. No i am not connected with Briscad in any way I just don't like getting ripped off for an inferior program like Autocad!
