I have a CD my boss gave me with almost 800 drawings all saved in 2007 format. my boss and most of the people in the office have 2006 or worse. My computer has 2009 LT.
Is there a way to use some sort of script to open the drawings automaticly and save them as 2000 format??

You might try Autodesks "scriptpro" at http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=4091678&linkID=9240618
I'm not sure if it works with LT.

if you knew dos (or found someone's example) a short dos bat file could process a whole directory, for each file Autocad is run with a short script file which opens then does a saveas

You should also be able to do it with a plain old script file; it would look somethink like the following. Before running you would need to set FILEDIA to 0 and SDI to 1:

open
dwg1
saveas
2004

open
dwg2
saveas
2004

etc..
