LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER/CAD DESIGNER
Contract position, 6-8 weeks.
To perform lead mechanical engineering/CAD for a large
advanced hydraulic/pneumatic computer-controlled robotic
sculpture. Supervise selection and specification of
custom telescopic hydraulics and assemblies. Schedule
and supervise CAD staff, manage/check workflow. Perform
simulation/modelling and rapid prototyping of scale major
and minor assemblies. Submit jobs for CNC.
Report daily progress to group director to meet artistic
goals with engineered reliability. Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills a must.
Experience Required:
• 5 years multiaxis mechanism design, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• 5 years CAD parts, assemblies, simulation, rapid prototyping.
• Design-in of assembly alignment adjustments.
• FEA
• Solidworks (preferred), Inventor, Mechanical Desktop,
CATIA, Pro E, Inventor
• Physical construction of structures and actuators.
Education:
• BSME or MSME equivalent.
Desirable Experience:
• All machine shop processes
• CNC Programming, setup
• Quality Assurance
Compensation
• Proportional to skill and experience
This is a contract: work-for-hire.
Work will take place in Red Hook, Brooklyn NY, 11231.
