Hi,

If I have an existing AutoCAD 2004 network running and I want to install the new ABS2005 should I need to reinstall the new License Manager for 2005?
Or can I just use the existing one and compile on license file together?

Thanks,

Florin

I believe that you need to upgrade the license manager.
The new version license manager will monitor the 2004 licenses as well as the new products.
Just cut and paste the license files together and start the service.

I _think_ you'll need the new FlexLM, but you can swap out the pieces
required without even causing a hiccup if you do it right.

IIRC correctly, you just have to swap out three files, but I can't remember
which ones. Do a search for my name and Flex, and I think you'll find my
post where I did this, and the parent post will tell you which files it was,
and how to do it.

If a new release of a product includes a new release of FLEXlm (and it
usually does), typically the new release is required. It's also
backward-compatible with older FLEXlm products.
