accessing mutiple drawings |

First off hello everyone, I am self taught when it comes to autoCad and VBA so I find that I am knowledgable on some parts and completely clueless on others. if it wasnt for the quality of help files I would of gotten nowhere.
What I am wondering is is it possible to pick (select) Items off of one drawing and draw on a seperate drawing (having both drawings open) is there a different procedure from the THISDRAWING. or a way to switch active drawings?
