SENIOR CAD DESIGNER
NEW BALANCE ATHLETIC SHOE, INC.
LAWRENCE, MA

Responsibilities:

The Senior CAD Designer will create technical drawings for the entire
range of footwear components and will work closely with product
development team, industrial designers and product managers on a
variety of projects. Generates technical drawings of footwear
components from sketches and concept drawings provided by team members.
Collaborates with team members to ensure the intent of the product
design is observed. Determines appropriate CAD technology (2D or 3D
and medium) to apply to a given project. Demonstrates an ability to
choose and apply rapid prototyping tool when necessary. Will assist in
training designers and developers on how to read mechanical drawings.
The Senior CAD Designer understands the entire bottom unit file
transfer process using Adobe Illustrator, 2D CAD, 3D CAD and CAM and
can communicate process and requirements to designers and developers.
Has an understanding of the mold making processes and materials and how
they apply to New Balance technology. Will maintain a comprehensive
archiving system for all technical drawings.

Requirements:

Strong SolidWorks skills required. Associate Degree and a minimum of 2
years technical CAD training or equivalent 3 years of footwear specific
CAD training. Communication, organizational skills and a willingness
to work in a team-oriented environment.
