I also find it a bother that the "standard" fonts that icfb wants are not
part of the install.
As the cadence A/E's tell us, the tool installs known copies of many (,
many ) standard
tools such as the C compiler et al, but they don't include a copy of the so
called standard fonts.

Gerry,
not so true what your AE said, look under ./tools/dfII/etc/Xfonts
This is also documented in some manual that you should install these and how.
That show 2 things :
1- someone went through the trouble of documenting an install procedure, and
packageing the fonts. He could have been better inspired to write an install
script and no documentation, IMNSHO.
2- there is so much fluff in the install tree that even cadence AE's get lost in
there.
(BTW, I am getting this warning too, and I did not bother to fix it).
Once I tried to make a font server that would satisfy all applications (java
UIs, Mathematica, ...) and all OSes here (sunos linux, hpux). I just gave up on
the idea. So every application does it s own tricks to the font path in wrapper
scripts, every OS does it s own aliasing.I leave it at that, even if that is
ugly. There simply no proper tool for this (at least opensource or in the OS.)
