How about a lisp routine that is the freeze command from express? We have AutoCAD 2005 LT, but there are no/will be no express tools with such a tool on it. Any ideas?

Lisp commands do not work in LT versions either. The best you can do is to use macros, and use the diesel language to add limited "programming"

A macro to freeze a aelected layer (Note -these are not tested, may have to play with the "enter" (Wink or pause (\) syntax:)

^C^C-layer;f;;\;

That macro allows a single object pick to freeze. To do multiple, maybe this:

^C^Cselect;\-layer;f;;p;;
