Hi:
I am looking for the command that can allow me to insert a text
label on a net in encounter. Does (SOC) encounter allow label
insertion? If so, is the label information preserved in the DEF?

regards
saby

Does that mean I cannot add a label to an existing layout? Because I am
using encounter to create layout using the gate netlist. Encounter adds
the nets and names them, I just want to add a label these nets.

thanks

why would u like to add a label to that net?
when u add a label to a net and do a LVS... that label will be
translated in as PIN and U will get unmatched ports error in LVS...

I generally use it to label P/G pins .....
