I'm running the license server on a new server of the same name. I obtained a new license file from Autodesk, and installed it following these steps:

After starting the service, the status shows this:

Flexible License Manager status on Fri 8/20/2004 13:35

[Detecting lmgrd processes...]
License server status: 27000@GATOR
License file(s) on GATOR: D:\Program Files\Autodesk Network License Manager\License\ACD2002enlicense.lic:

GATOR: license server UP (MASTER) v8.3

Vendor daemon status (on GATOR):

adskflex: UP v8.3

Feature usage info:

I've tried to open Autocad 2004 on a workstation, and get the message: "A valid license could not be obatined by the network license manager. Try again. If you are still unable to access a license, contact your system administrator. Error [1.5.-18]

What'd I miss? The server has the same name, so the clients know how to find it, and I followed the steps in the article above.

What do you mean server has the same name, there is such thing as host id
too,
so if your license file was created for other machine (even with the same
name) it will not work on that machine.

I sent the MAC addresses for the NICS to autodesk, and they generated a new license key... I'm not able to get it working with the new key
